Energy-efficiency Strategy
Using PowerTile technology, this concept focuses on two major challenges facing our society: obesity and energy produc-tion. It utilizes the aspects of piezoelectric membrane technology to produce electricity from the movement of humans. These tiles could be placed in existing sidewalks to provide locally produced electricity. People could track their electricity produced and gain tax credits. The system would allow the community, through their activity, to produce energy at a local level which is a more economical and energy efficient means of distribution.
